What is delamination?
Â
Delamination in a pickleball paddle refers to the separation of layers within the paddle's construction. Most pickleball paddles are made with multiple layers, including the core and the face layer.
When a paddle becomes delaminated, the bond between these layers breaks down, causing them to peel or separate. This issue can affect the paddle’s performance, as it can result in loss of power, control, or durability. Delamination is typically caused by factors like moisture exposure, excessive heat, or impacts during play.
If a paddle is delaminated, it’s is covered by a warranty, as it's considered a defect in the manufacturing process.
